Aoraki Mt Cook
One of the most memorable parts of Canterbury, Mt Cook National Park is drop-dead gorgeous.
Aoraki Mt Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand (reaching 3,724 metres/12,218 feet) and is popular amongst both tourists and mountain climbers. This giant sits within the Southern Alps, providing an incredible backdrop for trampers and climbers.
There, you’ll find opportunities for scenic flights (in both helicopters and ski planes), sky diving, amazing walks and so much more.
Not far from Mt Cook, you’ll also find Tekapo. Don’t overlook this little lakeside town – though it is sleepy, it is one of the most stunning towns in Aotearoa!
