Taupō & National Park

Conveniently located in the middle of the North Island, Taupō makes the perfect stop as you’re travelling through the country.  It’s handy to Rotorua and is right on the doorstep of National Park and Turangi.

Full of fantastic attractions and activities, it is both a worthwhile stopover and an exciting destination in its own right.

Taupō

Taupō is one of the largest residential areas in the region and is the perfect place to base yourself.

Built around the edge of Lake Taupō, this charming town has plenty of great restaurants, bars and cafes to keep you busy.

Being within a highly geothermal part of the country, you’ll also find plenty of unique spots to visit.  Fantastic hot water pools, waterfalls, lakes, geothermal parks, forests and more – getting outdoors in the region is an absolute pleasure.

National Park

Once you’ve made the most of your time in Taupō, we also suggest heading over to National Park.

Basing yourself in Turangi, Ohakune or National Park Village (depending on what activities you want to do), you’ll be perfectly positioned for all that the region has to offer – mountaineering, tramping (hiking), skiing, snowboarding, trout fishing and much more – it’s all there.

Isn’t it time you paid a visit to this incredible part of New Zealand?
