Begin your tour with an exhilarating helicopter flight to a high point on Glentanner Station. During your flight, you’ll enjoy dramatic views of Lake Pukaki, the Tasman River Valley and Aoraki/Mount Cook in the distance.
After landing, your tour will continue on foot with an easy walk down a picturesque farm track.
The track descends gradually along alpine tarns and beneath towering peaks. Your private guide will ensure plenty of stops for photos and will share stories of the station’s history, geological features, flora and fauna and present-day operations.
The walk also includes a break at a historic private hut with a delicious morning or afternoon tea provided.
The walking distance is approximately 7 kilometres over a gradual downhill farm track with some off-track terrain. Guests must be comfortable on uneven sloping ground with some loose rocks, tussocks, etc, though all in all, it’s a walk that suits the vast majority of people.
To join this heli hike reasonable level of mobility is required for the walking tour but a return flight from the landing site can be arranged for guests who do not wish to walk.
