Holey Moley Auckland: Mini-golf fun for everyone!

Holey Moley is a mini-golf bar that brings serious fun to Auckland’s Viaduct Basin.

With a unique multi-sensory mini-golf course and a fully stocked bar, this is anything but your normal mini-putt!

Quirky and colourful, this is one of the most unique things you can do in Central Auckland.

Holey Moley Auckland – Our Review

Holey Moley is spread across two floors and comes complete with 27 different golf holes. That’s right – that’s 3 separate courses for you to try out with your friends.

With mini-golf, karaoke rooms, two well-stocked bars and a full kitchen – all in the heart of the Viaduct, with incredible waterfront views – there’s no better place for your next fun evening out!

Whilst you play golf, you’ll be able to groove along to their live DJ (playing a range of dance music) and enjoy a wide range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There are even mini drink-shelves located at the start of each hole, allowing you to cart your bevvy around with you.

Because you shouldn’t have to choose between your favourite tipple and kicking butt at mini-golf!

In between rounds, you’re welcome to pull up a pew and order a range of tasty burgers and bar snacks. They can even be pre-ordered through their website if you’re the organised sort.

All in all, Holey Moley makes for a fantastic night out with friends!

What Are the Holes Like There?

Each hole at Holey Moley is totally different from the last – from unique theming (generally based around pop culture and TV/music/movie references) to additions you simply wouldn’t expect from a mini-golf course (like a labyrinth table and pinball) – it’s all there!

Keep your eyes peeled for recognisable themes as you’re playing the course – The Simpsons, The Flintstones, Game of Thrones and Nintendo and many, many more.

There are plenty of ‘traditional’ mini-golf holes where you’ll have to hit over/under/through/around obstacles. With that said, it’s the unexpected additions that make Holey Moley Auckland a totally new experience.

A number of holes require players to pop their golfballs in a slot, before pulling a spring back, sending the ball soaring. These holes add in a whole new layer of luck and make for some really unexpected outcomes!

Other holes have you use your putter in a totally unique way – like a pool cue, for example…

Vibrant and lively, we highly recommend Holey Moley Auckland for work team-building, birthday parties and groups looking for a fun night out!

Tap into your inner-child and see a different side to Auckland City next time you’re planning out a weekend adventure.

FAQ About Holey Moley Auckland:

How long should I play for? How many holes is right for me?

There’s no right or wrong answer here – it all depends on how much time you have and how much you love mini-golf.

We played 18 holes which felt perfect!

I think 9 holes might feel a little short, whereas 18 was spot on.

We could have happily continued on (and I would have loved to have seen the final 9 holes) but instead, we’ve chosen to save the back 9 for another day.

It is possible to pick a particular course to play?

The team at Holey Moley will do their best to accommodate your specific request.

As a general rule, they’ll start groups on the round that is the quietest (to avoid players having to wait for the people in front) but should you be keen to play a specific course, they’ll likely be able to get you on it. If it’s busy, you might just have to wait a little while.

FYI: If you like the look of our photos, we played the two courses downstairs.

Is Holey Moley Auckland kid-friendly?

It sure is! They host child-friendly birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays between 10am and 12pm.

If you’d like your kids to join you under normal admission, they’re able to do so before 5 pm each day. After that time, the venue becomes adults-only.

Anyone under 18 years of age must be supervised by a parent or guardian to to liquor licence requirements.

Is storage available onsite?

Complimentary lockers are available at Holey Moley, so you’ve got nothing to worry about if you’ve been shopping up a storm! You might also like to securely tuck your bag away so you can totally focus on your game.

Are advance bookings required?

Though advanced bookings are recommended, they are not required. If you’re keen to guarantee your spot, especially at popular times, it’s easy to book and pay online ahead of time.

This is such an awesome opportunity for fun in the middle of Auckland City.

Be sure to pay them a visit next time you’re in the Viaduct!
