2. Tahuna Pod Hostel ($)

Tahuna Pod Hostel (officially known as the Sir Cedrics Tahuna Pod Hostel) is another fantastic budget-friendly option.

Situated in the centre of Queenstown, this hostel is just a short walk from bars, restaurants, and shops.

What’s more, it was actually the first pod hotel in New Zealand, offering guests the ultimate privacy with curtains around every built-in bed. These rooms are a great option for people who are keen to try hostels for the first time or those that value a slightly more up-market experience.

The Tahuna Pod Hostel also has plenty of great facilities including a large balcony and BBQ area that offers stunning views of Queenstown. If you’re looking for superb views of Queenstown this is a wonderful option.

Our favourite rooms here are the ones with private balconies and seating area. They’re the perfect place to enjoy a snack whilst relaxing and admiring the scenic vistas!

This resort also has plenty of awesome facilities including a sauna, fitness centre, a tour desk, and a free shuttle service that runs into Queenstown. Or if you’d prefer, it’s just a 2.5-kilometre stroll into town along the lake.

If you’re looking for self-contained accommodation then Turner Heights Townhouses is a perfect option.

The apartments are just a 2-minute walk from the town centre. Skyline Gondola, Lake Wakatipu, and Queenstown Bay are also within walking distance.

10. Swiss-Belsuites Pounamu Queenstown ($$$)

If you’re looking for a taste of luxury in Queenstown then look no further!

This hotel is situated in a beautiful area and offers stunning views of Lake Wakatipu and the mountains.

There are a variety of studios and suites to choose from, and each one is fitted with a kitchenette, a private bathroom, and air conditioning. Although this hotel is further out from the town centre than many other options in this guide, it has plenty to offer – we think that makes it worth the trip.

The facilities here are world-class and include an indoor pool, fitness centre, a restaurant and bar, and a spa and wellness centre. There’s also an outdoor terrace area that offers stunning views, making it the perfect place to kick back and relax.

Not only that but Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa has a variety of accommodation options available ranging from suites to apartments.

Perched right on the lake (literally, right on the water’s edge!), they offer water taxis to get you in and out of Queenstown – or you can drive/bus if you prefer.

If you’re looking for incredible views and alpine-inspired luxury, don’t miss out on the Rees Hotel & Luxury Apartments.

Although it’s located out of the city centre, the hotel runs a free shuttle service to the town centre. And with service and accommodation like this, it’s totally worth the short ride or 2.6-kilometre walk (which takes just 30 minutes).

As you would expect, this hotel also has plenty of awesome facilities including a fitness centre, terrace area, and a wine lounge.

If you decide to stay here, then make sure you eat at True South Dining too as the food is delicious and the views are incredible.

This is one of the best places to stay if you’re looking for luxe Queenstown accommodation.

QT Queenstown offers incredible views of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps. However, there’s so much more to this hotel than just that.

15. Kamana Lakehouse ($$$)

Kamana Lakehouse is the definition of luxury. Not only are all of the rooms stunning, but they come with lot of little lovely touches and inclusions, including seating areas, USB ports, bluetooth speakers, and refrigerators.

Some even have floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer scenic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
