If you’re looking for a unique experience, there really is only one room type that you should look to book – their premium riverside chalets (AKA the highly recommended “superior chalet”).
These incredible studio chalets are the ultimate in modern luxury, perched right on the side of the Cleddau River.
Fall asleep to the sound of the forest rustling in the wind and the river roaring past. Wake to native birdsong as you enjoy a generous breakfast spread, delivered straight to your room.

Fiordland Lodge is the most expensive Te Anau accommodation in this guide but for a special occasion, it’s money well spent.

There is a bar and fabulous restaurant on-site, and a comfortable lounge area where guests can relax by the fireplace.
Not only that, but the rooms at Fiordland Lodge are luxurious with private balconies and beautiful bathrooms — as you would expect from a property of this calibre.
However, the highlight of this place has to be the outdoor hot tub that offers stunning views of the area.
