1. Baduzzi

Baduzzi is the Sicilian word for ‘meatballs’ and that’s what this restaurant is most famous for! Although if you’re thinking of classic Italian meals think again, Baduzzzi is all about putting a twist on their dishes. 

With crayfish, deer, and lamb fillings, this restaurant takes the meatball above and beyond.

Aside from this specialty, the menu also features fresh seafood, pasta and flat iron steak among other favourite dishes. 

And if that isn’t enough for you, there is also an extensive wine list that compliments the menu! 

This Italian-inspired restaurant is a masterpiece – both with its menu and beautiful interior and is a must-try whilst visiting the Wynyard Quarter.

  • Their meatballs of course! The range includes Karitane crayfish meatballs, wild red deer meatballs, Mamma D’s “East Coast”, Dodici Ore meatballs, and of course a vegetarian option!
  • Spinach & ricotta Rotolo with tomato & smoked provolone.

2. 16 Tun

16 Tun is incredibly passionate about providing the best craft beer that New Zealand has to offer! 

They supply their beer from independent brewers all across the country, which means they have an extensive list for you to try. 

At this quirky bar, you’ll find over 50 of New Zealand’s best-bottled beers, and another 10 on tap. If you aren’t sure which one tickles your fancy, 16 Tun’s beer list will give you descriptions of each one so you know exactly what you’re ordering. 

Although this bar focuses on its craft beer, it does have a small food menu with small bites and meals. Though the options are somewhat restricted, they are fabulous. 

If you are just looking to have a nibble between friends, there are also delicious sharing platters available. They’re perfect to chow down on as you enjoy an ice-cold brew.

3. Thai Street

Thai Street prides itself on being an ‘authentic Thai dining experience’.

They focus their food on tasty dishes sold on the streets in Thailand, as well as regional cuisine.

If you’re in the mood for tasty Asian food, then Thai Street is the perfect choice!

They have everything you could want including soups, wok-fried curries, Issaan grills, and of course the famous Pad Thai. As you’d expect, everything they serve is fresh, aromatic and full of flavour.

Wynyard Quarter has so many incredible dining opportunities, but this one just has to be on your list!

4. The Conservatory

The Conservatory is without a doubt one of the best spots to visit in the Wynyard Quarter. Situated right on the waterfront, this bar offers superb views and a very extensive menu. 

The conservatory is a wine bar, cocktail bar and restaurant all in one, so has everything you could need for the perfect evening.

There is also an outdoor fire located here with stunning sea views and hanging chairs. What could be more perfect?

All the food here is made fresh daily on-site and is made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. The seafood is especially fresh, coming straight off the boat onto the wharf.

With a scenic location, endless choice of drinks and tasty food dishes, the Conservatory is a great spot on Wynyard Quarter.

  • Fish of the day – Pan-roasted fish with edamame, creamed leek, ham hock, crayfish bisque & pea shoots. 
  • Southern flame pizza – Free-range Cajun chicken, caramelised onions, roasted vegetables & coriander topped with sour cream.

North Park is the newest eatery and bar on the Wynyard Quarter.

It’s a funky restaurant with unique decor and an incredible view of the harbour – plus they serve up excellent food.

With delicious burgers, beer-battered fish, and wood-fired pizzas, this restaurant has every dish you could be craving if you’re looking for comfort food.

North Park prides itself on being the best ‘American dining experience’ with a great waterfront location, cozy interior, and an American/Mexican-influenced menu.

If you’re looking for a fun night out with friends, then North Park is a great choice!

6. The Good Luck Coconut

The Good Luck Coconut is hands down one of the coolest bars in the Wynyard Quarter, With its awesome tiki theming, it’s perfect for a fun night out!

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to their famous cocktails. With drinks named ‘bikini bottom’, ‘plants vs zombies’, ‘love island’, and ‘crumble in the jungle’ you’ll run out of time to try all these delicious alcoholic mixtures.

Oh well, that just means another reason to go back!

With a relaxed Pacific-vibe interior (think soft bamboo, ocean colourings and a huge tiki-head fireplace), and a DJ playing every Friday, this is the perfect place to spend time with friends.

The Good Luck Coconut isn’t just a bar though – it also serves tasty dishes. You can choose small plates or go big with their large mains.

If you’re looking for a hip spot in Auckland then this is the place!

7. Miss Clawdy

If you’re looking for good old southern comfort food, then Miss Clawdy is the restaurant for you.

This Southern American-style restaurant was inspired by the 1952 New Orleans hit single ‘Lawdy Miss Clawdy’.

The dishes here are full of soul, spice, and designed for sharing with many of them being hearty in size.

However, there are also plenty of small plates available too so whether you are dining alone or in a large group, you will find something to your liking.

The interior of the restaurant is vibrant with plenty of colour, patterns, and hand-painted floors.

If you’re planning to visit Miss Clawdy, it’s a must to order one of the popular chicken dishes. The cornbread is a winner too!

8. Captain’s Bar

Captain’s Bar is located within Park Hyatt Auckland and is all about the alcohol.

With a wide variety of cocktails, gin, rum, whiskey, bourbon, craft beer, and wine you are bound to find a drink to your preference.

If you love rum, this is the spot for you as there are an astounding 60 varieties available!

Aside from the massive selection of drinks available, the Captain’s Bar is also incredibly cozy with plush chairs and a roaring fireplace. Plus they have an outdoor terrace where you can sit outside and enjoy the views.

There is a small section of tapas-style foods available if you do start to feel peckish, and If you’re feeling adventurous there is also a rum & chocolate experience.

9. Feriza’s

Frieza’s is one of the more unique restaurants in the Wynyard Quarter as it focuses on shared dining.

Its dishes are influenced by Ottoman-style cooking. This ‘mezze’ style cuisine comes from the likes of Turkey and Greece and is absolutely delicious.

Ranging from traditional village dishes to those that would have been cooked from the kitchens of the Sultan palaces, this unique restaurant is definitely worth checking out.

The eatery is run by a brother and sister who have been creating Ottoman dishes together for over 20 years so it’s not surprising that their food is delicious.

The food here is truly authentic and is a must-visit in central Auckland.

If you don’t have time for a sit-down meal, there is a kiosk available as a grab-and-go option.
